Delicious Low Fat Gluten Free Granola

This granola is a staple at our house. I usually have a batch of Gluten free and Non-gluten free made for breakfasts or snacks. It is delicious and very filling. Plus you don't have to feel guilty after eating it like you do with most granola. Enjoy!

10 c. gluten free rolled oats
1 c. flax seeds
1 1/2 c. almonds (chopped or whole)
1 1/2 c. pecans (chopped or whole)
1 1/2 t. salt
3/4 c. honey
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. apple sauce
1 T cinnamon
1 T real vanilla
3 c. dried fruit (cherries, blueberries, cranberries, raisins, golden raisins)

Preheat to 325 degrees. Line two cookie sheets, that have an edge, with aluminum foil. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. In a small sauce pan combine the rest of the ingredients (excluding the dried fruit). Over medium heat, bring to a boil and remove. Pour liquid over the oats mixture. Stir to cover.

Bake for 12 minutes, Stir, and bake for 12 more minutes. (till lightly brown). Let cool for 10 minutes and add the dried fruit. Store in air tight container.

Notes: You can substitute the oats for other grains or seeds you enjoy and the same for the nuts and dried fruit.
